  Watchtower lawyer fined for misleading the court

  watchtower lawyer david brumley has been fined for misleading the court during the discovery process of the montana case.

  the result was another 17 months of the courts time and the plaintiff having to produce evidence that wtpa did have a pivotal role in congregational business, which brumley had denied hoping that the courts would take his word for it.

  I don't think Brumley is your average Bethelite living on the standard allowance. He has a very nice house on Brimstone Lane though whether he or WT own it I don't know. He is mentioned in a life story is in July 2020 WT. I think he was originally a joiner and the WT sent him to college.

  only 40.00 for the worldwide work and zero for ramapo project!!!.

  Here in the UK it doesn't matter what we send to HQ, either from the boxes or on line donations from individuals. Once we have amassed 3 months average expenses all surplus is sent to HQ. There is no resolution as a single resolution was taken a couple of years ago that authorises the elders to do this without any further resolutions.

  Naked in the New World

  i know there was a painting of a woman being resurrected naked and someone coming to greet her holding clothes, but what about after perfection, after the thousand years?.

  the idea is we're supposed to achieve what adam lost by returning to human perfection, so wouldn't that include not wearing clothes, especially as the act of adam and eve hiding in the trees and sewing fig leaves signified shame, and imperfection passed on through the reproductive organs.

  has the wt ever addressed this?

  water canopy? how was that held up? pressure? velocity like the rings of Saturn? That dreamed up high altitude H20 never existed. imho.

  @waton The WT Society always used to preach that it was the water canopy that kept the earth an even temperature all year round and in all areas. This water came down at the flood and why the climate changed. If we are all to walk round in the nude then they will need to somehow get this canopy back in place!

  Of course we all know it's complete twaddle, the water canopy was dreamt up by Isaac Newton Vale, a 19th Century quack "scientist" and came to be known as Valian Theory, discredited many years ago. J F Rutherford of course fell for it and incorporated into his books (Creation IIRC) and so became WT teaching ever since. Several posters on here have explained the scientific detail of why this is completely wrong.

  The Paradise book (1958) shows Adam & Eve bare and also shows naked people in the NW. The the Garden of Eden picture shows Adam plus a cockerel and a squirrel with a couple of nuts, these two same creatures are in the NW picture. You can draw your own conclusions and parallels to the male anatomy and what these images mean.

  i've been out since '90-'91 and haven't read any literature in years.

  was this a fred franz quirk or do they still write in that style?

  The current convention title is "Pursue Peace"!

  They have always done this, I always thought it was a US thing, maybe not.

  When I was at school (George VI was on the throne when I started) we were always taught that exclamation marks (points) were mainly used in fiction. "Good grief!" cried Alice, "Nothing's impossible!"

  Probably says it all.

  why has the watchtower failed spectacularly to evangelize to the muslims?

  considering the recent influx of muslim people in european countries you would think that some attempt from the religion that touts the are preaching the good news of the kingdom in all the inhabited earth would have been made.instead the only meaningful attempt dates back to 1953 ,almost 70 years ago!!!!

  An elder I used to know spoke FARSI as did his wife. They tried to set up an interest group at the KH and would target Iranians in the local cafes. There seemed to be a lot of interest initially but the brother gave up and returned to his home congregation. He realised that Muslims were not in the least bit interested but liked the conversations which helped them with their English.

  William Malenfant gave a talk on the DC I watched last weekend, Sunday morning symposium.

  I thought Mark Numair was a future GB member in waiting but in a recent talk he said he was really looking forward to being on earth during the 1000 years so that probably blows my theory.

  i wonder if Ralph Walls or William Turner are being groomed for replacing Sam Heard. We certainly see a lot them both of recent.

  Money donated for a specific reason

  i decided to do this posting because of some comments in the post about pensions.

  in the mid to late 1980's there was a flood and the local kingom hall was damaged and many of the friends homes were damaged...groups came in to help repair.

  my then mother-in-law literally lost everything-she had no home to repair...she had been renting a small trailer and it washed away.

  A missionary couple I know have spent the last 50 plus years in Africa. They once told me that if you see a JW family that are starving you never give them money. You can buy them some food but that's all. They told me that if you give give them money the father will use it to buy the best wrist watch he can get his hands on and the family will still be starving.

  how far do we get away from 1914 before they have a new light and admit it was all wrong?.

  they cling to the old theory of the 77 week prophecy from the wrong date that jerusalem was destroyed .

  with the overlapping generations nonsense still we are getting too far away from 1914. what will they say if we get to the 2030s and they still cling to 1914?.

  Until 1942 it was stated that 606 BCE was the date for the destruction of Jerusalem. Then someone realised adding 2520 years to 606 did not give 1914 (no zero year) and as they already had the answer they wanted from CTR's pyramidology they changed to 607 BCE.

  This new date appeared in "The truth shall make you free" and further in "The kingdom is at hand" the following year.

  All the old WT publications prior to this era use 606 BCE and of course 536 BCE for the return, this too had to be changed.

  olivia's maternal grandfather fled htiler's germany in 1933. he was one of the founders of quantum mechanics and a close friend of albert einstein.

  Her dad got a double first at Cambridge (?) then an MA. They left England in 1953 for Australia where he continued his academic work and eventually became a professor.

  He also had a distinguished RAF career during the war, working in code breaking and intelligence along with interrogating captured German pilots and officers.

  It's a wonder O N-J didn't follow the family academic line.
